Fan Email AssetThat's right, the first The Sims 4 Expansion Pack has been announced: The Sims 4 Get to work!

During a closed telemeeting, we've found out the title of the first The Sims 4 expansion pack, Get to work, directly from Ryan Vaughan, producer of The Sims team. As you may understand from its name, this EP will focus on jobs; now, if you think of the previous EPs from old installments, two names immediately reach out to our minds: Open for Business for TS2 and Ambitions for TS3. While the first was focused on micromanaging your store and commercial activities, the second focused on professions and active careers, where you could follow your sim directly on their working place and around the town... this new EP kind of took the best of both and enhanced it even more!

Introducing Genealogy

Written by Snow on . Posted in Basegame

Can you believe it? This week marks the 15 year anniversary of The Sims™. This is a massive milestone, not just for us in the studio but for all of our players, many of whom have shared this journey from that very first day. We will be celebrating throughout the month of February, but what better way to kick off than by talking about a much-requested feature that we are bringing to The Sims 4 today.

Genealogy is essential for legacy and family players to fully appreciate the scope of their games. For all those players who lovingly document every generation of their Sims, print out their family trees, and keep track of the complex relationships that develop, Genealogy is an incredibly valuable tool.

Let’s take a look at a Sim family you might see in the game.

Herbalism – A Player’s Guide

Written by Snow on . Posted in The Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat

Herbalism is a brand new skill in The Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat Game Pack. With it, your Sims are able to identify new wild plants and brew potent herbal remedies on the grill and stove. This guide will show you how to identify wild plants, and how to brew your first herbal remedy!

Welcome to Granite Falls

Granite Falls is home to a variety of wild plants that grow in the campgrounds, the forest, and the mountains. While your Sim is on vacation, keep an eye out for bushes or little clusters of mushrooms that you can harvest. If you see one, click on it!

Identifying Unknown Plants

Plants need to be identified before they can be used to brew herbal remedies. Sims can eat unidentified plants, but do so at your own risk! There are many toxic plants in Granite Falls that can have nasty effects such as  making your Sim Tense, or even worse—making them bladder fail.

To identify a plant, click on it in your Sim’s inventory and select “Attempt to Identify”. Your Sim will harvest the plant and take a little nibble; if successful they’ll figure out what plant it is! This will build your Sim’s Herbalism skill even if they fail to identify it.

By reading the plant descriptions you can find out which plants are required for each remedy.
