Written by Paperpin on . Posted in Basegame

Let's go on with the new details coming from Twitter about the emotions system, which is currently described by Grant Rodiek during Masterclass #2 at SimsCamp.
  • The whole game is build around emotions, that influence and affect a Sim's everyday life, job, skills and interactions.
  • According to SimGuruGrant emotions are like "temporary traits", that don't limit a Sim's behaviour as much as trait used to.
  • There is a goal/reward system under development that is influenced by emotions.
  • Emotions influence the walking style of a Sim and their posture.
  • Skills are arranged according on three kinds of emotions: Energic, Focused, Inspired.
  • Emotions are so important that they can kill a Sim!
  • Working performances are affected by emotions and environment.
  • There are 15 emotions in the game with different levels and intensity.
  • There is an interaction called "Pee like a champion" (if you feel pretty confident)!
  • Sad Sims can cry if they hear a violin.
  • Sims can eat healthy or junk food, and this will influence their body shape and emotions.
  • The trait list is changing and it's not the same as The Sims 3.
  • A Sim can die if too angry, but if depressed s/he cannot commit suicide.
  • Emotions influence what a Sim can do and how s/he can do it. While playing you can see clearly what a Sim is feeling in that moment.
  • Each life stage has a special emotion.
More important facts:
  • There is no weather or pets in The Sims 4 (base game)
